RRB(Railway recruitment board) has put out an employment notice regarding the recruitment of junior engineer(JE) ,chemical and metallurgy assistant (CMA),chemical and metallurgical supervisor in Indian railways. There are a total of 7900+ vacancies in Indian railways for the post of junior engineer. Interested candidates can apply for these posts from 30th July 2024 up-to the application closing date 30th August 2024 in any of the RRB officials websites.

How to apply for Indian railways JE posts?
1.Candidates need to go to any one of the rebound official websites and register themselves if they are applying for the first time for the Railway examination . After generating ID and password candidates can login to their account.
2.After login under the apply notice section candidates can find the official notification for JE under which the apply button will be there. Click the apply button.
3.After this candidate will be taken to the application form. At the first stage they need to fill in the personal details like name, father name, birthmark detail, etc.
4.In the second stage of application form candidates need to provide their education details.
5. After this candidates need to upload their scanned photograph and signature in the application form. Photograph and signature should be in the specified size by rrb notification.
6.After this candidates need to pay the application fees through online mode. No other mode of payment will be accepted as per rrb official notification.
7.After paying the application fees Click the submit button.Your application will be submitted.
Candidates are advised to take the print out of the application form for preventing any future issues.
RRB JE Eligibility criteria
1.Candidate needs to be a citizen of India.
2.Candidates age for applying for the post of Junior engineer should be between 18 to 33 years. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories according to government rules.
3.For junior engineer - candidates need to have a 3 year diploma or engineering degree from a government recognized university or institution.
For CMA - candidates need to have B.SC degree in physics and chemistry from a government recognized university or institution.
For chemical and metallurgical supervisor- candidates need to have a degree in chemical technology or metallurgical technology from a government recognized university or institution.
Application fees for RRB JE examination
All candidates need to pay an application fee of rupees 500 out of which rupees 400 will be refunded to their bank account after they appear for the CBT-1 examinations. Candidates belonging to ST/SC/EX-service/Transgender/female need to pay application fees of rupees 250 which will be fully refunded after they appear for the CBT examination.
RRB JE exam pattern
RRB JE exam will be conducted in four phases : Computer based test-1,CBT-2, document verification and medical test.
CBT-1 examination will consist of 100 MCQ from four different subjects which are Mathematics, general awareness, general science and reasoning. Out of 100 questions 30 questions each will be from mathematics and general science. 25 from reasoning and 15 from general awareness. CBT-1 will consist of 100 marks, 1 mark for each correct answer and 0.25 negative marking for incorrect answers.
CBT-2 examination will consist of 5 sections: general awareness, physics and chemistry ,computer knowledge, basics of environment and technical ability. There will be 150 questions in CBT-2 examinations out of which general awareness and physics and chemistry sections will contain 15 questions each. Computer and basic environment section will consist of 10 questions each. Technical ability section will consist of 100 questions.CBT-2 will consist of 150 marks, 1 mark for each correct answer and 0.25 negative marking for incorrect answers.
After clearing CBT-1 and 2 candidates will have to go through a document verification round and after the documents verification medical test will be there. After the medical round final merit list will be published.
Salary of JE in Railways
Candidates selected for the post of junior engineer in Indian railways will get a salary of 35,400 rupees according to level 6 in pay level in 7th CPC.
